MIYUKI® TILA BEADS are crafted from melted glass heated up to 1400°F in a kiln, then blown and stretched into a tubular mold and cut to the desired size. Additional forming happens post-cutting, followed by cleaning and electroplating, dyeing, baking, printing, and one final cleaning. Crafting these beads comes with a few technical challenges, from color-matching to cutting with precision, and round-burning - controlling the firing temperature and materials used to form the shape.
